Many businesses have suffered in the past two years. Particularly in Melbourne, which has been the most locked-down city in the world. As the world learned to live with COVID-19 and businesses were able to trade normally again, the Sunshine Business Association (SBA) introduced the Sunshine Business Awards to recognize and reward star local businesses.
From 1 June 2022 to 31 July 2022, the community was encouraged to vote for their favourite business across 12 different categories. Almost 470 businesses were nominated and the top 3 finalists in each category were invited to attend the inaugural gala event at Peony House on Wednesday 10 August 2022 for an evening of food and drinks, networking, celebrating and dancing.
SBA President Vu Du said that the awards rewarded the “best and brightest” businesses in Sunshine. “Win or lose, our businesses were happy to celebrate with the best, network, and collaborate in our first-ever business awards. The 12 winners have demonstrated exceptional leadership in their respective categories and more importantly made a positive impact within the community. In light of our current inflation and the struggles of many businesses during COVID we hope that this promotion will not only provide recognition to the businesses/community leaders for a job well done but to also share their insights on their success stories so that other businesses can feel empowered to do the same.”
